Gold Runner Announces New Thruway Bus Stop at
Humboldt State University
Connecting students across the Gold Runner Valley

(September 23, Stockton, CA) - As colleges and universities are returning to in-person learning, Gold Runner has added a new, more convenient stop on campus for the students of Humboldt State University (HSU) in Arcata.

The new Route 7 bus stop at HSU provides easily accessible drop-off and pick-up services on LK Wood Boulevard at the entrance to College Creek Field beginning at 6:55 AM daily. The stop is the latest addition to Amtrak San Joaquin's network of major destinations including Napa Valley, Yosemite, Los Angeles and Bay Area connections.  Now, students have an affordable and comfortable alternative for traveling throughout the San Joaquin Valley, connecting to other major areas, and while taking advantage of multiple discount opportunities including the 15% everyday discount and 6Tix Student Pass that saves up to 30% when purchasing six one-way tickets valid for a 365-day period.

"We're so excited to be able to provide an on-campus stop for our over 6,000 students, faculty and staff to travel on Gold Runner," said Krista Paddock, Parking & Commuter Services Coordinator at Humboldt State. "The HSU community comes from around the state with over 30% from the Central Valley and Los Angeles area, so it's great to have this transportation option right here on campus."

The bus is equipped with Wi-Fi, ADA-accessible seats, restrooms, and charger outlets. The route passes through beautiful Northern California providing glimpses of places like Eureka, Garberville, Ukiah, Santa Rosa, and Napa on its way to Martinez. At Martinez, riders can transfer to Gold Runner trains heading to the Bay Area and Central Valley.

"As ridership increases on Gold Runner, we are really proud to respond to student feedback and provide a convenient new stop at Humboldt State to easily connect to our Route 7 service," said David Lipari, Marketing Manager at SJRRC. "We hope that students and staff at the school take advantage of our service to serve their travel needs from visiting family to exploring new destinations."

The service to and from the new bus stop is as follows:
